Blue Jackets Sign Vigneault to Two-Year Entry Level Contract
CLEVELAND – The AHL’s defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, announced Thursday that the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets signed Clarkson University center Sam Vigneault to a two-year entry-level contract, beginning with the 2017-18 season, and the Monsters signed Vigneault to an amateur tryout contract (ATO) for the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign.
A 6’5”, 215 lb. left-handed native of Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Vigneault, 21, posted 30-45-75 with 79 penalty minutes and a +5 rating in three NCAA seasons with Clarkson from 2014-17. This year, Vigneault supplied 12-24-36 with 41 penalty minutes and a +9 rating, leading the Golden Knights in assists and points and finishing second on the team in goals.
