Monsters Hit the Road to Battle the Checkers

In the seventh of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Charlotte Checkers, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, on Tuesday with full coverage, live from Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte, NC, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

 

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 1-5 home loss to the Laval Rocket on Friday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 24-30-4-2 on the season. With 54 points, the Monsters currently rank eighth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 15th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is currently led in scoring by D Adam Clendening (7-33-40), C Ryan MacInnis (7-23-30) and LW Stefan Matteau (12-16-28).

 

CHECKERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 2-3 home overtime loss to the Utica Comets on Saturday, the Charlotte Checkers enter today’s game at 32-22-5-0 on the season. With 69 points, the Checkers currently rank fourth in the AHL’s Atlantic Division standings and eighth in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte is currently led in scoring by D Jake Bean (9-37-46), LW Steven Lorentz (21-22-43) and C Morgan Geekie (22-20-42).

 

REGULAR-SEASON SERIES: Tuesday marks the seventh of eight meetings between the Monsters and Checkers this season and the third of four games between the two clubs at Bojangles’ Coliseum this year. Cleveland is 3-3-0-0 overall vs. Charlotte with a -2 goal differential (14/16) overall and 1-1-0-0 vs. the Checkers on the road with a -1 goal differential (5/6).
