KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • THE FIX IS IN: The Monsters signed 2018 Blue Jackets draft choice Trey Fix-Wolansky to an amateur tryout (ATO) contract on Tuesday. In 65 regular-season appearances for the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings this year, Fix-Wolansky posted 37-65-102 while serving as team captain and added 4-8-12 in 15 postseason appearances.
  • BRICK WALL BRAD: Cleveland net-minder Brad Thiessen has been stellar in the playoffs, posting a 3-1 record with one shutout, a 1.52 goals-against average and a .942 save percentage. In his last outing, Thiessen provided a 38-save shutout, the fifth of his career in the Calder Cup Playoffs, in the Monsters’ series-clinching Game 4 home win over Syracuse on Thursday.
  • THE FOUD SHOW: Monsters forward Liam Foudy broke out in a big way in Thursday’s 3-0 home win over Syracuse, providing the first two goals of his professional career, including the game-winning strike, in just his fourth-career AHL game.
