Monsters Begin Home Stand with Moon Landing Night vs. Hershey

In the third of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Hershey Bears, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals, on Saturday with full coverage, live from The Q, underway at 7:00 pm on SportsTime Ohio, Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 5-2 road win over the Rochester Americans on Friday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 31-26-7-1 on the season. With 70 points, the Monsters currently rank fifth in the AHL’s North Division standings and tenth in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (24-19-43), C Mark Letestu (18-22-40) and LW Nathan Gerbe (10-22-32).

BEARS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 1-0 home overtime win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Tuesday, the Hershey Bears enter tonight’s game at 36-22-3-4 on the season. With 79 points, the Bears currently rank third in the AHL’s Atlantic Division standings and sixth in the Eastern Conference. Hershey is led in scoring by RW Riley Barber (31-27-58), C Mike Sgarbossa (27-31-58) and D Aaron Ness (4-43-47).

SEASON SERIES: Saturday marks the third of four meetings between the Monsters and Bears this season and the first of two clashes between the two clubs at Quicken Loans Arena this year. So far this season, Cleveland shows a record of 1-1-0-0 vs. Hershey both overall and on the road with a -2 goal differential (6/8).
