Monsters Clash with the Marlies at Home

In the fifth of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Toronto Marlies, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, on Wednesday with full coverage, live from The Q, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 2-1 road overtime win over the Toronto Marlies on Sunday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 10-7-2-0 on the season. With 22 points, the Monsters currently rank third in the AHL’s North Division standings and eighth in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (12-9-21), LW Nathan Gerbe (3-12-15) and LW Eric Robinson (8-6-14).

MARLIES PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 1-2 home overtime loss to the Cleveland Monsters on Sunday, the Toronto Marlies enter tonight’s game at 7-7-2-2 on the season. With 18 points, the Marlies currently rank seventh in the AHL’s North Division standings and 15th in the Eastern Conference. Toronto is led in scoring by C Chris Mueller (8-8-16), D Calle Rosen (2-14-16) and LW Carl Grundstrom (7-8-15).

SEASON SERIES: Wednesday marks the fifth of eight meetings between the Monsters and Marlies this season and the third of four meetings between the two teams at The Q this year. The Monsters are 3-0-1-0 vs. Toronto overall and 1-0-1-0 vs. the Marlies at home this season with a +3 overall goal differential (19/16) and an even home goal differential (12/12) to their credit.
