Monsters Continue Playoff Push In Rockford

MATCHUP Beginning a three-game road trip, the Lake Erie Monsters (28-25-6-4) visit the Rockford IceHogs (37-19-5-2) tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern at the BMO Harris Bank Center.  The Monsters are coming off Saturday's 4-3 home win over Grand Rapids, and have points in three straight games and four of the last six possible points.  Rockford has won four straight, has eight wins over their last 10 games, and has won 11 of 15 dating back to February 13th.  Rockford's last game was a 4-3 home win over Texas on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT Tomas Vincour led the way offensively for the Monsters, scoring two goals en route to a 4-3 Monsters victory that snapped Grand Rapids 19-game point streak.  Stefan Elliott and Troy Bourke also added goals in the win, while Andrew Agozzino stretched his season-long point streak to eight games; the longest such streak for a Monster this season.  Sami Aittokallio stopped all 15 shots he faced in the third period to preserve the one-goal lead, and he made 34 saves overall.

WHO TO WATCH:  MONSTERS Elliott leads all Monsters defensemen with 15 goals and 32 points, but perhaps Elliott's most eye-catching statistic is his nine power play tallies on the season.  His nine power play goals tie him for second among AHL defensemen in that category this season.

WHO TO WATCH: ICEHOGS Garrett Ross leads Rockford with 38 points on this season, and he also paces the IceHogs with 10 points against the Monsters on the campaign.  His 18 goals tie him with Mark McNeill for the Rockford lead in goals.

TUNE IN Catch all of tonight's action, live from Rockford, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and airing live on ESPN 850 WKNR with Doug Plagens on the play-by-play.
