Monsters Continue Roadtrip to Utica

In the fourth of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, on Sunday with full coverage, live from Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, NY, underway at 5:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 2-4 road loss to the Belleville Senators on Saturday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 24-22-5-1 on the season. With 54 points, the Monsters currently rank sixth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 12th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by LW Nathan Gerbe (10-22-32), C Zac Dalpe (15-14-29) and C Alex Broadhurst (8-21-29).

COMETS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 3-2 road overtime win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday, the Utica Comets enter tonight’s game at 27-19-4-2 on the season. With 60 points, the Comets currently rank third in the AHL’s North Division standings and fifth in the Eastern Conference. Utica is led in scoring by LW Reid Boucher (23-25-48), C Tanner Kero (19-26-45) and LW Brendan Gaunce (15-15-30).

SEASON SERIES: Saturday marks the fourth of four meetings between the Monsters and Comets this season and the second of two meetings between the two teams at Adirondack Bank Center this year. The Monsters are 1-2-0-0 vs. the Comets overall this season with a -7 goal differential (7/14) and Cleveland is 1-0-0-0 vs. Utica on the road this year with a +1 goal differential (4/3) to their credit.
