KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • MAN-DOWN OFFENSE: Both the Monsters and IceHogs have been effective offensively while killing penalties this year with Rockford’s three shorthanded goals currently leading the league and Cleveland’s two shorthanded goals currently rank second-most in the AHL this season.
  • STRENGTH ON STRENGTH: While the Monsters currently rank second league-wide in shots allowed per game (25.7, 2nd), the IceHogs have excelled on putting pucks on net this year, to the tune of the AHL’s best mark (33.4, 1st) in that category on a per-game basis this season.
  • HALT HINOSTROZA: The Monsters will need to carefully check Rockford C Vinnie Hinostroza on Tuesday. So far this season, the ‘Hogs top scorer ranks in the AHL’s top-ten in points (11, T6th) and power-play assists (5, T3rd).
