KEYS TO SUCCESS:
- KEEP SPOILING: Thanks to the Monsters’ 3-1 home defeat of the Manitoba Moose on Friday, Manitoba no longer has the opportunity to claim the Central Division title, as the Chicago Wolves has officially clinched that honor. On Saturday, a Cleveland win over Grand Rapids in regulation would spoil the Griffins’ chance at home-ice advantage in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
- END ON A HIGH NOTE: Cleveland’s win over Manitoba on Friday was a cathartic way to end the team’s home schedule, but with an overnight bus ride to Grand Rapids and the season finale on Saturday, the Monsters will look to parlay Friday’s momentum into another signature win in the campaign’s final clash.
- LEAVE IT ALL ON THE ICE; With the playoffs not in the cards this season and with Saturday’s game the last one most of the Monsters roster will play until next October, there is no reason not to compete at the team’s most desperate level on Saturday vs. the Griffins.
