Monsters Go Head to Head with Penguins

In the third of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, on Friday with full coverage, live from Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 5-1 road win over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Wednesday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 12-8-3-0 on the season. With 27 points, the Monsters currently rank second in the AHL’s North Division standings and sixth in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (13-12-25), LW Eric Robinson (9-8-17) and LW Nathan Gerbe (3-14-17).

PENGUINS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 4-7 road loss to the Toronto Marlies on Saturday, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins enter tonight’s game at 9-10-3-1 on the season. With 22 points, the Penguins currently rank seventh in the AHL’s Atlantic Division standings and 12th in the Eastern Conference. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is led in scoring by C Teddy Blueger (6-10-16), C Sam Lafferty (4-11-15) and D Ethan Prow (6-8-14).

SEASON SERIES: Friday marks the third of four meetings between the Monsters and Penguins this season and the first of two tilts between the two clubs at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza this year. The Monsters are 0-2-0-0 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton so far this season with a -6 goal differential (1/7) vs. the Penguins this year.
