Monsters Head To Hamilton For Season Finale

MATCHUP In the final game of the season for each team, the Lake Erie Monsters (34-29-8-4) visit the Hamilton Bulldogs (34-29-12-0) tonight at 7:00 p.m. The Monsters knocked off the Bulldogs a night ago at The Q by a 6-3 score, as the Monsters tied their highest goal output of the season and eliminated the Bulldogs from playoff contention. The Monsters are 3-1-1-0 on the season against Hamilton. The matchup will be the final one ever for the Monsters in Hamilton, as the Bulldogs are relocating after the season.

LAST TIME OUT Hamilton took a 2-0 lead just shy of the midway point of the hockey game, but the Monsters stormed back with five straight goals en route to winning by a 6-3 score before a season-high crowd of 15,288 at The Q. Andrew Agozzino and Ben Street each posted three-point nights, as five different goal scorers provided the offense for the Monsters. Tomas Vincour's power play goal in the third period was the eventual game-winner, giving Vincour a five-game goal scoring streak.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS Agozzino has posted one of the all-time banner seasons for a Monsters player. He leads the team in goals with 30, which is a Monsters single-season record, and in points with 62. Agozzino has been the hottest player in the AHL since the calendar flipped to 2015; he has 23 goals and 23 assists for 46 points in his last 44 games.

WHO TO WATCH: BULLDOGS Rookie forward Charles Hudon is second on the Bulldogs in points with 57. He scored a goal last night, and has four goals and seven points in five games against the Monsters to lead Hamilton.
