Monsters Hit the Road, Clash with San Diego

In the first of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the San Diego Gulls, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks, on Tuesday with full coverage, live from Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA, underway at 10:00 pm on Alt 99.1 and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 3-2 home overtime win over the Tucson Roadrunners on Sunday, the Cleveland Monsters enter today’s game at 19-29-4-3 on the season. With a .409 points percentage, the Monsters currently rank seventh in the AHL’s Central Division standings and 15th in the Western Conference standings. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Alex Broadhurst (15-17-32), LW Terry Broadhurst (12-14-26), and C Zac Dalpe (11-14-25).

GULLS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 4-5 road shootout loss to the Stockton Heat on Sunday, the San Diego Gulls enter tonight’s game at 30-19-1-1 overall this season. With a .608 points percentage, the Gulls currently rank second in the AHL’s Pacific Division standings and fourth in the Western Conference. San Diego is led in scoring by LW Kalle Kossila (14-27-41), C Sam Carrick (13-23-36), and D Andy Welinski (10-24-34).

SEASON SERIES: Tuesday marks the first of four meetings vs. the Gulls this season and the first of two clashes at San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center this year. Tuesday’s game will mark the first-ever meeting between the Monsters and Gulls in the two teams’ respective franchise histories.
