Monsters Kickoff 3-Game Series Against Marlies

In the third of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Toronto Marlies, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, on Friday with full coverage, live from The Q, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 5-2 road win over the Hershey Bears on Saturday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 9-7-1-0 on the season. With 19 points, the Monsters currently rank third in the AHL’s North Division standings and seventh in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (12-7-19), LW Eric Robinson (7-6-13) and LW Nathan Gerbe (3-10-13).

MARLIES PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 3-2 home overtime win over the Binghamton Devils on Sunday, the Toronto Marlies enter tonight’s game at 6-7-1-2 on the season. With 15 points, the Marlies currently rank eighth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 15th in the Eastern Conference. Toronto is led in scoring by C Chris Mueller (8-8-16), D Calle Rosen (2-13-15) and LW Trevor Moore (9-3-12).

SEASON SERIES: Friday marks the third of eight meetings between the Monsters and Marlies this season and the second of four meetings between the two teams at Quicken Loans Arena this year. The Monsters are 2-0-0-0 vs. Toronto overall and 1-0-0-0 vs. the Marlies at home this season with a +3 overall goal differential (12/9) and a +1 home goal differential (7/6) to their credit.
