Monsters Look to Even the Score Against Marlies

In the fourth of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Toronto Marlies, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, on Sunday with full coverage, live from Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, ON, underway at 4:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 5-6 home overtime loss to the Toronto Marlies on Friday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 9-7-2-0 on the season. With 20 points, the Monsters currently rank third in the AHL’s North Division standings and eighth in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (12-9-21), LW Eric Robinson (8-6-14) and LW Nathan Gerbe (3-11-14).

MARLIES PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 6-5 road overtime win over the Cleveland Monsters on Friday, the Toronto Marlies enter tonight’s game at 7-7-1-2 on the season. With 17 points, the Marlies currently rank seventh in the AHL’s North Division standings and 14th in the Eastern Conference. Toronto is led in scoring by C Chris Mueller (8-8-16), D Calle Rosen (2-14-16) and LW Carl Grundstrom (7-8-15).

SEASON SERIES: Sunday marks the fourth of eight meetings between the Monsters and Marlies this season and the second of four meetings between the two teams at Coca-Cola Coliseum this year. The Monsters are 2-0-1-0 vs. Toronto overall and 1-0-0-0 vs. the Marlies on the road this season with a +2 overall goal differential (17/15) and a +2 road goal differential (5/3) to their credit.
