Monsters Look To Keep Playoff Hopes Alive vs Griffins

MATCHUP Needing a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Lake Erie Monsters (33-28-8-4) host the Grand Rapids Griffins(44-21-6-2) tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. to begin a string of three games in three nights to conclude the regular season.  The Monsters are coming off back-to-back road wins over the Adirondack Flames, winning 5-2 on Saturday and 4-1 on Sunday.  Grand Rapids is down to the final three games of their regular season, and the Griffins are fighting for the top spots in the Midwest Division and Western Conference.  The Griffins are coming off a 2-1 overtime win in San Antonio on Saturday night, and have won six of their last eight games while holding opponents to two goals or fewer in all but two of their last eight contests.  Grand Rapids is 25-5-3-1 over their last 34 games.

LAST TIME OUT The Monsters never trailed on Sunday, knocking off the Adirondack Flames 4-1 in Glens Falls, New York.  Bruno Gervais, Reid Petryk, Kenny Ryan, and Tomas Vincour scored in the Monsters win, while Calvin Pickard stopped 35 of 36 Flames shots for his second consecutive win in net.  The Monsters finished the season series against Adirondack with a 2-1-0-1 record, and have just one road game remaining on the schedule.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS Vincour has scored a goal in three consecutive games, and has posted a goal and an assist in each of his last two contests.  Overall, Vincour has five points on three goals and two assists over his last three games.

WHO TO WATCH: GRIFFINS Andy Miele scored last time out for Grand Rapids, and has posted five goals and three assists for eight points over his last seven games.  Overall, Miele is second in the AHL in points with 68 in 68 games this season.
