Monsters Look For Weekend Road Wins In Charlotte

MATCHUP The Lake Erie Monsters (28-26-6-4) begin a weekend of back-to-back games in Charlotte against the Checkers (28-33-5-1) tonight at 7:00 p.m.  The Monsters are coming off a 3-2 loss in Rockford Wednesday night; their 36th one-goal game of the season.  Charlotte last played on Wednesday in Norfolk, winning the game 3-2.  The Checkers have won three straight and five of seven, while the Monsters had a three-game point streak snap with Wednesday's regulation loss to the IceHogs.  The Monsters and Charlotte split the previous two meetings against each other this season.

LAST TIME OUT After falling behind 3-0 early in the second period, the Monsters battled back to within a goal before ultimately falling on Wednesday in Rockford by a 3-2 score.  Ben Youds scored a power play goal for the Monsters and Bruno Gervais added a shorthanded goal.  The shorthanded goal for Gervais made him the ninth different Monster to score a shorthanded goal this season.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS Andrew Agozzino's two assists Wednesday extended his point streak to nine games; the longest such streak for a Monster this season.  Agozzino is one game away from tying the longest point streak in Monsters history: a 10-game point streak for David Jones during the inaugural Monsters season of 2007-08.  Overall, Agozzino has four goals and nine assists for 13 points over his nine-game point streak.

WHO TO WATCH: CHECKERS Brody Sutter has five goals and six points with a plus-two rating over Charlotte's current three-game win streak.  Sutter has exactly half of Charlotte's 10 goals over their last three games.
