Monsters Prepare For Weekend Series With Moose
In the fifth of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Manitoba Moose, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets, on Friday with full coverage, live from The Q, underway at 7:00 pm on 99X and the Monsters Hockey Network.
MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 2-1 road overtime win over the Iowa Wild on Wednesday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 22-18-2-3 on the season. With a .544 points percentage, the Monsters currently rank fifth in the AHL’s Central Division standings and ninth in the Western Conference standings. Cleveland is led in scoring by LW Sonny Milano (11-14-25), C T.J. Tynan (5-20-25) and RW Oliver Bjorkstrand (14-9-23).
MOOSE PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 1-4 road loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday, the Manitoba Moose enter tonight’s game at 18-23-3-2 overall this season. With a .446 points percentage, the Moose currently rank alone in seventh place in the AHL’s Central Division standings and 15th in the Western Conference. Manitoba is led in scoring by C Jack Roslovic (9-16-25), C Dan DeSalvo (12-11-23) and C Chase De Leo (9-13-22).
SEASON SERIES: Friday marks the fifth of eight head-to-head meetings between the Monsters and Moose this season and the first of four meetings between the two teams at The Q in the 2016-17 season. The Monsters are currently 2-2-0-0 vs. Manitoba overall this season with a -2 goal differential (12/14) and have yet to play the Moose at home this season.

- REINFORCEMENTS: The Monsters will be buoyed on Friday by the return of their leading goal scorer, RW Oliver Bjorkstrand (14G), from the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, and the return of G Joonas Korpisalo who stopped 25 of the 27 pucks he faced in his last AHL appearance, a 3-2 home shootout win over the Chicago Wolves on January 28th.
