Monsters Earn Point in 4-3 OT Loss to Barons

Three first period goals helped the Lake Erie Monsters (18-16-4-3) earn a point in the standings and extend their point streak to four games, but the Monsters fell short Friday night in a 4-3 overtime loss to the league-leading Oklahoma City Barons (29-10-2-3) at Cox Convention Center.  Andrew Agozzino scored for the fourth straight game, while Paul Carey and Joey Hishon also added goals for the Monsters.  The Monsters continue their three-game road trip tomorrow in Oklahoma City at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

With 55 seconds left in the third period and the Oklahoma City goalie pulled in favor of an extra attacker, former Monster Matt Ford scored from the top of the right circle to tie the game at 3-3 and ultimately force overtime.

At 5:00 of overtime Jordan Oesterle tapped in a loose puck after Ford had hit the goal post, securing a 4-3 overtime win for the Barons.

Pickard stopped 29 of 33 shots and is 8-6-4 on the season.  Richard Bachman stopped 25 of 28 shots and is 14-3-3 in net for the Barons.
