Pickard w/ Shutout, Monsters Blank Rampage 4-0
Calvin Pickard notched his second straight shutout for the Monsters, following up a 34-save shutout on Sunday with a 31-save shutout on Friday to backstop the Lake Erie Monsters (27-24-5-3) to a 4-0 win over the San Antonio Rampage (34-20-5-1) at the AT&T Center. Ben Street, Ben Youds, Kenny Ryan, and Trevor Cheek scored for the Monsters, as Pickard collected his third shutout of the season. Andrew Agozzino had a pair of assists for the Monsters, who take on San Antonio again tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
Ben Street scored to give the Monsters a 1-0 lead just before time expired in the first period. Duncan Siemens dumped a puck in on the left side, Andrew Agozzino kept the play alive behind the net, and Street jammed a puck at the side of the past San Antonio goalie Michael Houser. The goal was Street's seventh goal of the season.
The Monsters doubled-up their lead in the second period when Ben Youds made the score 2-0. Street sent a pass from below the right circle to an open Youds streaking through the left circle, and Youds immediately one-timed the puck past Houser. Agozzino also assisted on the goal, which was the seventh of the season and second as a Monster for Youds.
