Cleveland Monsters Announce "Grow the Game" Initiative
Cleveland- The Cleveland Monsters will be taking hockey to the streets LITERALLY on Friday, August 18th and Saturday, August 19th through the Monsters’ new “Grow the Game” community initiative. Partnering with Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. and the Nautica Entertainment Complex, The Monsters will host two days of FREE street hockey clinics for children in Northeast Ohio to introduce them to the sport of hockey. In addition to the clinics, attendees can look forward to festival activities and fun!
Each clinic session will include professional hockey instruction of the fundamentals of shooting, passing and stick handling and will conclude with a simulated game. Instruction will be led by Cleveland Monsters Hockey staff members and former Monsters Player and Ohio Hockey Project Owner Russ Sinkewich. Children ages 5-14 are welcome to participate!
All registered participants will receive a Monsters ‘Grow the Game’ t-shirt and equipment-needed will be made available free of charge. Courtesy of Nautica, all participants will also receive a complimentary ticket to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium and complimentary ticket for the Nautica Queen. Clinic time slots and space are limited and will be filled on a first come first serve basis; pre-registration is highly encouraged.

Attendees can expect appearances from the Monsters Entertainment teams including Sully and Monster Hockey Girls as well as music, face painting and games. A special box lunch including grilled hotdog, chips, drink and piece of fruit will be available for $5 for all attendees.
Friday, August 18th: Grow the Game Community Day: Non Profit Group Opportunity
Sessions held on Friday, August 18th will be reserved for youth focused non-profit groups in Northeast Ohio. All equipment needed will be provided free of charge to all participants. If you are interested in registering your non-profit group for this community day clinic please click HERE.
Saturday, August 19th: Grow the Game Street Hockey Clinics: Public Opportunity
Sessions held on Saturday, August 19th will be available for all children of any skill-level and are Free and open to the public. All equipment needed will be provided free of charge to all participants. Sessions will be divided by age and skill-level, and will begin at 10:00 a.m. Clinics will last approximately two hours. Participants are encouraged to register ahead of time, as time slots will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. The Cleveland Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert.
