Eastern Conference Preview: Hershey Bears

For the first time since the 2012-13 season, the Cleveland Monsters and the Hershey Bears will once again re-kindle their rivalry with four regular-season meetings in the 2018-19 regular season. Head Coach Spencer Carbery enters his first season at the helm, taking over a Hershey team that finished 30-37-4-5 last season, missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign.

The Bears will make two trips to Quicken Loans Arena, while the Monsters make two stops of their own to the Giant Center. Hershey won the last regular-season meeting between the two teams on February 5th, 2013, with a 3-2 shootout victory at The Q.

In 2016, the Lake Erie Monsters met the Eastern Conference champion Hershey Bears in the Calder Cup Finals. The Monsters steam-rolled through the Western Conference playoffs that season, beating the Rockford IceHogs in three games, the Grand Rapids Griffins in six, and then the Ontario Reign in four before sweeping the Hershey Bears 4-0 to claim the Calder Cup championship for the first time since 1964.
