Hockey & Heels Recap

Who says hockey is just a guy's sport?

The Monsters once again hosted Hockey & Heels at Quicken Loans Arena, inviting ladies who RSVP'ed to a unique night at The Q. Over 90 women attended the event this year, which featured:

  • Three food stations & one dessert station with wine pairings at each station
  • Complimentary chair massages
  • A Hockey & Heels gift featuring a tumbler cup with the Hockey & Heels logo, a candle and a voucher for 2 tickets to Pink The Rink on March 21st
  • Raffle for various prizes including concert tickets, Monsters jerseys and gift baskets

The event wasn't just wining and dining. Ladies also got the chance to:

  • Tour the Monsters Locker Room with Head Coach Dean Chynoweth
  • Try on Sami’s goalie equipment and take a picture with him
  • Hang out with David van der Gulik, J.T. Wyman, Bryan Lerg, Duncan Siemens and Andrew Agozzino

"This was my third Hockey & Heels [and] the best one so far," said Cathy, a fan who attended the event. " The access to the players was exceptional this year. The players were circulating through the room and having conversations with each table. Coach Chynoweth puts on a great talk about the day in the life of a hockey player while he gives you a tour of the locker room."

Through raffles and ticket sales, the event raised approximately $2,000 split between the Monsters Community Fund and the Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center. From all fronts, it was definitely a successful night for all involved.

“Supporting a cause such as Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy is worthy enough, but having so much fun while doing so is a bonus," said first time attendee Diane Burns. "I will definitely be attending again!”
