Monsters in the Community Vol. 4

jjanavicius

Even though the Cleveland Monsters spent most of the past month on the road, they still found ways to be active in the Cleveland Community!

Tip-A-Monster
The Monsters Community Fund hosted its largest fundraising event of the year, Tip-A-Monster, on March 1st at Sterle’s Country House, as Monsters players traded in their skates for aprons and served dinner to fans. However, while enjoying the meal, the real fun began as players were willing to do some crazy things for tips to see who could raise the most money! The team performed the Chicken Dance, got their faces painted, and Anton Forsberg even planted a kiss on Oleg Yevenko to help the cause.  Thanks to the generosity of Monsters fans, Tip-A-Monster raised $16,700!

Stepstone Academy Skate

While the team was on the road, the Monsters Better Halves hosted students from Ohio Guidestone Stepstone Academy for a skate at OBM Arena, the official practice facility of the Cleveland Monsters. Students got to enjoy time on the ice with a pizza and cookie decorating party afterward. Stepstone Academy is a charter school located in Cleveland’s Central Neighborhood that strives to inspire a love of learning with the goal of each student graduating from college.
